Tracking and paying invoices digitally is the faster and easier approach to construction payment management.
Having all the equipment you need for construction projects when you need it helps you complete jobs on time and on budget. Renting equipment right from your phone or tablet gets you that equipment with less hassle. Similarly, making digital payments for construction equipment saves you time and energy that could be better spent elsewhere, especially if you manage equipment for multiple worksites.
To track and pay invoices and manage purchase orders with ease, United Rentals customers can leverage Total Control®, United Rentals’ cloud-based worksite management platform, and the United Rentals Mobile App. Here are some of the benefits of a digital approach to construction payment management.
Easily track and view POs and invoices
Keeping track of POs and invoices can be tedious and time-consuming. With Total Control or the United Rentals Mobile App, the days of sifting through printouts or combing through emails and computer file folders in search of the most current POs and invoices are gone. With a few clicks on a computer or taps on a mobile device, the latest documents are right in front of you.
Online search and filter features help you find open invoices fast so you can stay on top of what’s due and when, reducing the likelihood of overdue balances. Notifications keep you informed about new and successfully paid invoices and POs that are missing information or require action. Need to edit a PO? You can do it right away.
Fast, convenient payment options
When you’re ready to make a payment, Total Control and the mobile app both give you 24/7 access to your account. No need to wait for business hours to contact a United Rentals representative to pay over the phone. Customers who have credit approval can securely initiate and complete rental payments whenever it’s most convenient. A bonus: Digital payments are processed faster than checks.
You can set up your payment method right as you make your payment rather than having to set it up in advance. Pay with credit, or pay electronically with ACH, which transfers money directly from one bank to another.
Available digital features also allow you to:
- Pay multiple invoices at once
- Make a partial payment of invoices
- Apply credits to an invoice as payment
Easily share PO and invoicing information
On complex projects with many moving parts, multiple people often need access to important documents. Features available in Total Control and the United Rentals Mobile App allow customers to seamlessly share PO and invoice information with those who need it.
The PO Management function in Total Control gives teams robust control over tracking POs. In the PO tab, users can quickly navigate to open contracts, reservations and paid and past-due invoices. Total Control also lets you:
- Edit PO requestor and approver information
- Update allocation information
- Modify accounting codes
- Manage user permissions
Convenient recordkeeping
Digital transactions provide real-time financial visibility to help you monitor and manage expenses effectively. Digital access to detailed transaction records makes it less onerous to budget and track expenses. If you need to look back at a closed invoice, for example, it’s there for you. Having a digital trail can simplify accounting and reconciliation processes.
Flexibility and control at your fingertips
In these times of tight schedules and tighter budgets, seizing opportunities to simplify processes for efficiency and convenience is a must.
Apps that let you make digital payments for rented construction equipment give you maximum control over how and when you pay invoices. But the benefits of United Rentals’ digital tools extend even further. The features available through Total Control and the United Rentals Mobile App help you stay organized and up to date so you spend less time dealing with paperwork and more time getting real work done.
